I feel airy because my head has nothing inside. Much like this rabbit, waiting for its head to dry...

recently, i went to google maps and found out that they provide absolutely amazing satellite pictures! i even located my appartment and old primary school in the US and nothing has ever changed. the top 2 pictures are an aerial view of my primary school( look at the huge patch of grass which is my playground). note the yellow shapes are schoolbuses lining up infront of the school entrance. the right is a pic of my appartment. i still remembered rolling down the hills during summer and sliding down the snow on a sledge in winter...how nostalgic

"journey to the west" by a Chinese artist (credits to LP for supplying these pics)

Amazing aint this sculpture, probably made of fibre glass. somehow it embodies a hint of irony in it. Normally, one wont perceive the characters from the well known chinese legend " journey to the west" as really ugly demons and the highly respected monk as a mere skeleton. however, the artist guided us back to the real legend which existed thousands of years ago; where demons are supposed to be the main characters and they are really that hidious looking. not only that, the monk would have decayed by now after thousands of years, so its skeletal features are the most accurate portrayal. Imagine the horror if you realise fantasies and legends dont actually look so wonderful had they existed in reality.

to make people free is the aim of art, therefore art for me is the science of freedom- Joseph Beuys

LOL. recently, i saw a few artworks by Yasumasa Morimura and he deals with the meaning of identity. Really, his artworks fall straight into the catergory of Kitschy, joining the ranks of Jeff Koons. I guess it is because i dont understand his works and why he choose to reproduce paintings by the old masters with him inside or imitate actresses.

But i do understand why his works are bought by the Saatchi Gallery: they are certainly unconventional! He deals with issues of cultural and sexual appropriation; he is constantly exploring ideas of image consumption, identity and desire: Can Brigitte Bardot be as innocently flirtatious with angular Japanese features? Morimura lives out his impossible dreams of being 'other', playing the role of Asian agent provocateur infiltrating Western collective consciousness.
