I feel airy because my head has nothing inside. Much like this rabbit, waiting for its head to dry...

to make people free is the aim of art, therefore art for me is the science of freedom- Joseph Beuys

LOL. recently, i saw a few artworks by Yasumasa Morimura and he deals with the meaning of identity. Really, his artworks fall straight into the catergory of Kitschy, joining the ranks of Jeff Koons. I guess it is because i dont understand his works and why he choose to reproduce paintings by the old masters with him inside or imitate actresses.

But i do understand why his works are bought by the Saatchi Gallery: they are certainly unconventional! He deals with issues of cultural and sexual appropriation; he is constantly exploring ideas of image consumption, identity and desire: Can Brigitte Bardot be as innocently flirtatious with angular Japanese features? Morimura lives out his impossible dreams of being 'other', playing the role of Asian agent provocateur infiltrating Western collective consciousness.
